CHALLENGES IN PREPARING FOR OUR 2019-20 ROTARY YEAR:
  • Wayne Huff’s death:
On 2 April 2019, John Rogers wrote: “It is with great sadness to let you know our dear friend and President Elect Wayne Huff passed away about 12 noon today (CDT) in the hospital in Koblenz, Germany. Their daughter, Catherine, came into the bank and informed us……Wayne was so excited in embracing the opportunity to lead our Club next year as its President and had made careful plans to do so. He was ALL IN for his 2019-20 year…..May God Bless Wayne’s family and our Club.” (John Rogers)
Melinda, Wayne’s wife, should be returning home this weekend (6-7 April).
Let us continue to keep her, Catherine and their family in our prayers.
  • Selection of New President….our Board of Directors met last Wednesday (3 April) and approved a Nominating Committee (Jane Burton-Chair; Kathy Hubbard; Bill Fusco; Lisa Dunne; and Addae Kraba. we also ask that all of us be prayerful in reference to Selecting a New President.
  • Transitional/Continuity Process…..our Club’s leadership Team has a basic plan for addressing the huge void that Wayne’s passing leaves

We are a living proof of our Rotary Theme this year: “BE THE INSPIRATION”. That’s why we exist, for we are motivated to think, say and do in ways that do make a difference.
“Life is short….We do not have much time to gladden the hearts of those who travel the journey with us…..So be swift to love and make haste to be kind……And may God continue to bless us in all that we do and all that we are.” (an Irish Blessing)
Joe Garcia
President 2018-19
