John Wall was a charter member of the Fair Oaks Ranch Rotary Club when it was formed in 2012 but it was not where his Rotary journey began. He first joined Rotary as a member of the Northwest Rotary Club of San Antonio in 1985 at the encouragement of his business partners at a well-known San Antonio engineering firm. The four principles in the firm were all active Rotarians. John immediately began to enjoy the fellowship, community engagement opportunities, networking, outstanding speakers and just plain fun that came with being a member of one of the world’s leading service organizations.

Three years later John transferred to the Downtown San Antonio Club where he served one term on that organization’s Board of Directors, and, after changing employers in 2001, he transferred to the Boerne Noon Rotary Club. Eventually he joined the newly-formed FOR Rotary group and over the past nine years he has served in many roles including Assistant Treasurer for three years and Treasurer for four.

John has found membership in the FOR Club brings all the same experiences as his previous clubs. Now retired (for the most part), John continues to give his time to well deserving organizations. For this and his many other contributions, John was honored in 2020 as “Rotarian of the Year”. He is truly the embodiment of the Rotary motto “Service Above Self”.
